Our Staff

Associates with our company are nationally accredited USPAP instructors. USPAP instructors teach appraisal standards and are certified by the Appraisal Foundation.

On staff is an MAI appraiser -The MAI membership designation is held by appraisers who are experienced in the valuation and evaluation of commercial, industrial, and other types of properties, and who advise clients on real estate investment decisions.

Staff appraisers have also written books on mass appraisal valuation that were published by the Appraisal Institute.

Steve Kane MAI, M.S.

M. Steven Kane, MAI M.S. is a practicing Colorado certified general real estate appraiser, specializing in commercial and development properties with assignments in almost every region of the state. Steve has a Masters Degree in Real Estate Appraisal; his thesis was on mass appraisal application in commercial portfolio modeling. He has an MAI from the Appraisal Institute. His appraisal modeling background includes residential, commercial and agricultural property valuation. He has worked on the Colorado State Property Assessment Audit since 2003 and is in charge of statistical compliance for this project. He is principal author of the two Automated Valuation Model (AVM) books published by the Appraisal Institute, and has written and taught seminars on computer assisted mass appraisal and AVMs. He also helped develop the first AVM system in Colorado for the private sector, ValueCheck. He is a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and the Appraisal Institute (AI).

James Bittel

James Bittel is a Certified General Appraiser in Colorado. He has been doing appraisals since 1979 and has broad experience in a number of property types. He also has broad experience in litigation valuation and eminent domain practice as an expert witness, being qualified as an expert in several district courts as well as federal courts. He has experience in Kansas, Colorado, California, Nebraska, and Arizona.

Tom Mead

Thomas O. Mead is a Colorado Certified General real estate appraiser. Mr. Mead is in his sixteenth year appraising commercial properties. Prior to the start of his appraisal career, Tom was in banking for over 20 years. His banking career centered mostly on commercial real estate lending and management. Banking activities were centered in Colorado but also reached to numerous other states. Tom received his undergraduate degree in Real Estate/Finance from Colorado State University in 1976 and he earned a Master of Business Administration in 1984 from the University of Northern Colorado. Mead has completed numerous courses and seminars in the general areas of real estate finance and appraisal. Properties appraised include new construction, existing improvements, subdivisions, multi-unit developments, and mixed-use properties. Tom has completed assignments for: industrial, retail, office, apartments, and other “standard” types of commercial real estate. The assignments have been located throughout the State of Colorado and Wyoming (temporary licensure for Wyoming assignments). Clients include banks, life insurance companies, credit unions, investment banking institutions, lawyers, government entities, individuals, developers, non-profit entities, and others.

Martin D. Kane

Martin D. Kane is a trainee appraiser, who has worked for East West Econometrics since its inception in 2013. In addition to assisting licensed appraisers with research, data analysis and narrative report writing, he also provides administrative support service to the staff and principals of the company. In May of 2019, he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (with a specialization in Finance) from Regis University, graduating with summa cum laude honors. David is on track to obtain his Certified General appraisal license in 2020.

Amanda Rene Bauer

Amanda Rene Bauer began pursuing an appraisal career in 2019, after eleven years in the legal field handling case preparation and management of real estate, complex civil and insurance litigation, bankruptcy, and municipal law land use matters in Kansas, Colorado, Arizona and Oregon. Her real estate experience also includes buying and selling her own properties, minor land development, remodel project management, rental property ownership, and rental property management, as well. Amanda holds an Associates of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies.
